Siding Services in Dublin & Wadsworth, Ohio

GAF Master Elite · Licensed & Insured · 400+ Five-Star Reviews

Siding does two jobs. It is the first thing anyone sees, and it is the layer keeping water out of your wall cavity. The second job is the one that quietly costs money when it fails, because rot inside a wall is invisible until it is expensive.

Overview

Hail Damages Siding More Often Than People Realise

Everyone checks the roof after a hailstorm. Almost nobody checks the siding, and hail frequently damages both — particularly on the north and west elevations that take the brunt of Ohio storms.

On vinyl, hail cracks and punches through rather than denting. The cracks are often hairline and easy to walk past, but each one is a path for water into the wall. On aluminium, it dents visibly. Either way it is claimable damage, and if your roof claim is approved and your siding was damaged in the same event, both belong in the same claim.

What We Install

  • Vinyl — the practical default. Never needs painting, wide colour range, and modern thicker grades hold up well.
  • Insulated vinyl — vinyl with foam backing. Adds R-value, resists impact better, and sits flatter on uneven walls.
  • Fiber cement — James Hardie and similar. Considerably more durable, holds paint for years, and stands up to hail far better than vinyl.
  • Board and batten — vertical siding for accent walls and modern farmhouse elevations.

The Layer Underneath Matters More Than the Siding

House wrap is the actual water barrier. Siding sheds the bulk of it, but wind-driven rain gets behind siding as a matter of course — the wrap is what stops it reaching the sheathing.

Wrap installed with the laps running the wrong way, or with the seams untaped, funnels water into the wall instead of out of it. It is completely hidden once siding goes on, which is exactly why it gets rushed.

On any full re-side we inspect the sheathing, replace anything soft, and install new wrap properly lapped and taped. If you are getting quotes elsewhere, ask specifically what happens to the wrap.

Repair Versus Full Replacement

Isolated damage on a house with siding in otherwise good condition is a repair, and the main obstacle is colour matching. Vinyl colour lines get discontinued, and existing siding fades — so a technically correct match can still look wrong. We will show you the match before installing anything.

Widespread damage, or damage on siding old enough that matching is impossible, points toward replacement. If insurance is covering it, carriers will often pay for full replacement of an elevation, or occasionally the whole house, when matching cannot be achieved.

Questions

Common Questions

Often, but not always — discontinued colours and weathering both work against it. We source the closest available match and show it to you against your existing siding before committing.

If hail or wind caused it and it exceeds your deductible, usually yes. Siding is frequently missed on claims because nobody inspects it — we always do when we inspect a roof.

For hail resistance and lifespan, genuinely yes. It is heavier and more labour-intensive to install, so expect a real price difference over vinyl.

Yes, and it is usually the sensible order — roof first, then siding, so flashing and trim integrate properly. Same company, one schedule.
