Tartan Builders Inc. is led by CEO Grant Martinez and operates out of two Ohio offices — Dublin, covering Columbus and central Ohio, and Wadsworth, covering Akron, Medina and the northeast.
We install and repair roofs on everything from single-family homes to commercial buildings, and we run our own crews rather than brokering work to whoever is available. That is the reason we can schedule a roof, siding and gutters as one job instead of coordinating three companies.
Roofing Is the Core, Not a Sideline
Roof replacement and roof repair are the bulk of what we do. Around that we handle siding, seamless gutters, fascia and soffit, skylights, and the flashing details that decide whether a roof lasts twenty years or twelve.
The other half of the business is insurance restoration. When hail or wind damages a home we document it to carrier standard, meet the adjuster on the roof, and carry the claim through to the final depreciation payment. Most roofing companies will happily install a roof insurance has already approved. Far fewer do the work of getting it approved.

Free Inspections and an Honest Answer
Every inspection is free and carries no obligation. We get on the roof, look in the attic where we can, and give you a written report with photographs whether or not you hire us.
If your roof has ten good years left, that is what the report says. We would rather be the company you call in 2036 than the one that sold you a roof you did not need in 2026. Estimates come back within three business days.
What Licensed, Insured and Master Elite Actually Mean
Licensed and insured is the floor, not the ceiling — but ask any contractor for their certificate of insurance before they set foot on your roof. If they are not carrying workers’ compensation, an injury at your house becomes your homeowner’s policy’s problem.
GAF Master Elite is the part that is harder to get. GAF requires licensing, insurance, a documented track record and ongoing training, and they cap how many contractors hold it in a given area. The practical benefit is the Golden Pledge warranty, which covers workmanship as well as materials — and workmanship is how roofs actually fail.

Two Ohio Offices, and a Truck That Travels
Dublin and Wadsworth cover most of the state comfortably. We also reach Dayton and Cincinnati regularly — those are service areas rather than offices, and we say so on those pages rather than renting an address.
After a major hail event we send crews to Kentucky, Georgia and Indiana. There is never enough local roofing capacity in the weeks following a big storm, which is the gap storm chasers exist to fill. We travel into it too, but with our own crews, our own warranties, and an Ohio phone number that still answers in three years.
